Tenerife, a good place for a holiday
Location: Tenerife is one of the Islands that make up the autonomous community of the Canary Islands and is the capital of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Its main feature is that it has the highest mountain of the Spanish territory, Teide which is an inactive volcano some years ago.
Municipalities: It has about 25 municipalities which depends on the insular Council. The main cities are Santa Cruz, which is the capital and the lagoon, where the North Airport is located. The climate is spring throughout the year so the arrival of tourists during all seasons.
What to see? In Tenerife has many activities that make that they adapt to all tastes. For example you can spend a day by the slopes of the teide enjoying a volcanic landscape with moon-like or go to any of the beaches in the South.
What to eat? Fish is the main Tenerife gastronomy base but also enjoy Canary Island stews, "Potatoes wrinkles" and Mojo are dishes more demanded by the tourists who come to the island.
Where to stay? Tenerife boasts a great variety of hotels ranging from the most tourist of the South to the more humble in parts of the center of the island. Rent houses and apartments are the other two options chosen by visitors.
How to get? Tenerife has two airports, one in the North in La Laguna and the other in the South. Both have direct flights to Europe and the peninsula. It also has two public ports with ferries to other islands. The roads are good.
The province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a jewel in the Atlantic

Municipalities: 54 municipalities are who make up the province which depend in turn of a chapter for each of the Islands. The Organization of the province as we know it dates back to 1833 when the territories of Spain were divided.
What to see? The islands of Santa Cruz de Tenerife have a greate and nature that attracts millions of people a year. It has 3 natural parks so is the Spanish province that has most: caldera de taburiente (La Palma), Garajonay (La Gomera) and Las Cañadas del Teide (Tenerife).
What to eat? In the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife you will enjoy a plagued gastronomy good dishes made from fish and meat. "Wrinkled potatoes" or puchero canario are the recipes more desired by visitors to the island.
Where to stay? You have at your disposal a fairly large list of hotels for all tastes since it is a place which welcomes tourists. Both the largest as in the smaller islands have a good variety.
How to get? Airport access is easier, as the airports of Tenerife who have more activity. You can move also boat thanks to the daily connections that exist.
A paradise called Canary Islands
Location: The Canary Islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean just a few miles from Africa. They consist of the seven major islands Tenerife, La Palma, Gran Canaria, El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Gomera, with other small islands like Isla de Lobos or La Graciosa.
Municipalities: Formed by some 88 municipalities divided between the seven islands. The origin of the archipelago is volcanic, and formed part of a region that fragmented into various archipelagos such as Madeira.
What to see? There are many options spread over several islands. You can go to the wonderful beaches in Fuerteventura or Lanzarote, while the amazing nature of La Palma and La Gomera attracts many people throughout the year.
What to eat? There is a very diverse cuisine and with many local dishes such as gofio, "potatoes unpeeled" and other recipes made with vegetables, meat and fish provided by the Islands.
Where to stay? Being a very touristy area, you can choose many hotels that are scattered throughout the Islands. You can also stay at villas or apartments for rent during your holiday.
How to get there? Gran Canaria and Tenerife airports have many connections to different parts of the world, there are airports on each of the Islands. There are daily boat connections between islands. There are a few roads in good condition.
