The area around Alfaz is said to be the best in Spain. In this area, there is a so-called "micro-climate" (as in Gran Canaries) created by the high mountains, the coast and Albir that is located directly on the coast. This has made Alfaz area the most secure site for good spring and the Sun in the whole of Spain.
Alfaz municipality is about 19 square kilometers and is an area with an exquisite combination of sea, mountains and fertile soil. The coast is a beautiful and varied. It starts in the North with the beach of Albir and stretches to the South of the towering Sierra Helada. The beach of Albir, which has "the blue flag", has very good water. A lovely place to take a good bath or just to lie down and rest in the water's edge. In the middle of this area Albir and Alfaz village are located, and spread beyond lies the different urbanisasjonene. For the Nordic people, there are some familiarities with the coast and the impressive mountains right within. The surroundings of the area is amazing with a series of small mountain villages and the coastal village spread around, where you can experience the real Spanish everyday life away from any other Nordic people and tourists.
