Calpe is a tourist town located on the coast north of Benidorm, 65 km from Alicante.
The town is best known for The Calpe Rock, Penon de Ifach, the most famous landmark on the Costa Blanca.
This stone formation lies right off the coast and rises 332 meters above the city. Not only is it a favorite photo subject, it is also the world's smallest nature reserve and offers a great hike. At the top, the view is spectacular.
On both sides of the cliff there are beautiful sandy beaches, with restaurants and playgrounds.
Near the cliff there is also a salt lake, a known habitat for flamingos and other exotic birds.
The city is home to 30,000 inhabitants, where 60 % are foreign, mainly German and English.
More and more people discover what this great town has to offer - beaches, a fishing port and daily fish market,
the authentic old town and modern city blocks.
